I have a cabinet placed in the hall that is a curation of everything I have loved that has been collected from my travels.  Sometimes I find a pot or fragment of paper, a brooch or miniature painting, that I just can't bring myself to sell at that particular moment.  There is a pull to not part with a piece, so I allow myself the treat of having it live here for a while, a few months of being able to have the pleasure of enjoying the details and 'own' it for a moment.

I think, somewhere in our homes we all have a space like mine.  Yours might be a drawer, a shelf, a wall space or even an apron pocket.  A place where you collect keepsakes and treats.  It may not even be a collection of 'the old', you may have a shelf that is lined with interesting spices in the kitchen, the design of a label or shape of a jar was the appeal.  A bowl in the bathroom may be filled with small bottles of potions or tablets of soap that just are so aesthetically pleasing they may never be used. 

As items sell they are removed from the window.
