So here we in Miss William's Boudoir.  Sometimes Shop Windows are inspired by a painting or a book, or a letter or place I've visited.  This collection is inspired by the most wonderful old department store packing box.  The most wonderful illustration, embossed royal stamps, and a hand written address label to a Miss Williams of Ruthin.  As you know I like to wrap orders in a way that I like to receive.  I wonder over such boxes, their contents, the purchaser, the receiver of such delights. 

There was a magic to department stores over the last 100 years or so.  Where detail was everything.  Where the products were considered in their selection.  Where everything felt special, from how you were served to how your item was wrapped to the inner feeling of giddiness from the luxury itself.  I wonder what originally was in the box, lets imagine it was the most beautiful lace shawl, or a precious ornament or silk dress wrapped in tissue.  For this collection I have created an impression or a collection of her belongings taken from her room.  From prints and paintings that adorned the walls, reclaimed upholstered ribbons from furniture, ornaments from the mantle, lace mats from her dresser, nightdresses from her wardrobe, dried hydrangeas from her bedside table, a photo from Paris, greetings cards from acquaintances......
