The very first display of the year is always a joy to curate.  

It is like starting the first page of a new sketchbook, not quite knowing where to begin with the found details in the store cupboard. Before I even make a first mark in a new sketchbook I always surround myself with simple things that inspire me; photographs taken from a walk, favourite books, objects I have collected from  my travels, new drawing tools like sticks from the garden collected through Winter or a single new paintbrush.  All laid out on a table in a quiet corner of the house. Meditative moments.
