"Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather." John Ruskin
In August I had the absolute delight of staying on the waters edge of Coniston for a week. A week where you floated through time as if a day was generously 100 hours long. Within each of these hours I spent the day mesmerised by the art of looking. We think we are observing all the time but when everything around you is still and quiet and beautiful it transports you to a total other plane. You would find me sat drawing facing the hills, observing every mark of muted tone, as the view was a painting itself. Or you would find me strolling around the waters edge, searching for every detail gifted by either nature or by Ruskin himself.
