Flowers of Shakespeare - Old Victorian Botanical Study - Timon of Athens
£36.00
"The Flowers of Shakespeare" was a cloth bound book published in 1845 by Day & Hague, London, that was rich in hand painted illustrations and was a very indulgent book of its time. Therefore it was a past time to copy pages of this book in the mid to later Victorian era. This is one of those copies. A very beautiful copy indeed. All produced in sharpened pencils, paint and a touch of gilding here and there. I have photographed the back of the paper too where you can see the oil of the paint has created a shadow. Please do look at the details within the photographs.
Beautiful to frame or embroiderers to copy in stitch.
Timons of Athens Act 4th Scene 3rd
24cm x 30cm
Approx 150 years old.
There is foxing to areas of the paper as expected for its age.
