Late 1800's/early1900's Archive Squares - collection 10

£12.00 £14.50

A very special find. Beautiful and rare archive squares.

These wonderful panels have been reclaimed from a damaged eiderdown at some point on its journey, I purchased it as a collection of cut pieces that were in a small suitcase, this is why I am selling them in oddment patches and strips.

The fabrics look like they date from the early 1900's to around 1920, 1930 at the latest for some.  Therefore the patchwork would have been made in stages over a long period as all is hand stitched.

The printed designs are all rather ditsy in scale which makes this even more special as this scale suits so may projects.  I have kept a panel for myself to make some sweet hand made buttons for my cardi.  The prints are just perfect for sewing projects/darning/applique or creating an archive of your own.

All 15 squares are printed cotton.

Each square measures approx 7.5cm x 7.5cm.
