Mid Victorian Serving Plates - Set of 2
Pretty set of serving plates from the mid eighteenth century. Due to the age and 'bespoke-ness' of this set, the glaze, transfer, bleed of design from ware, crackling, hand painted details, all vary between plate to plate. The stamp on the reverse is a pretty trade stamp with the name REGENT and ENGLAND.
There is one plate where the design is clear and the other it has blurred from use and heat. Both lovely qualities.
Like me, you may love to use sets for so many uses, I love to use them as rests for plant pots for the garden tables, I also like to have them in the studio to gather the details of tasks of the day......
Plates diameter is 22.5cm
Please note this set is heavy.
