A perfect little box of inspiration.

Two weeks ago, when I was sourcing new stock, I found a collection of French boxes of old lace on my travels.  I have sorted though each box and have been left with a lovely selection of smaller pieces (these are not the usual small snippet size of previous boxes, these are a little larger).  A lot of the found pieces had damage or were stained in areas so I have sorted and cut away panels to create these lovely keepsake boxes.

From this latest find of lace I have made a series of boxes, although each are similar in the types of lace, each one is different from the next.
Included in each box is:
-small pieces of antique lace, crochet and broderie both hand made and machine made from the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
-an old French cotton bobbin reels (13cm in length) from the store cupboard here in the studio.
-a gentle toned English cotton reel found on my travels, the colour will differ per box.
-a printed card reproduced from an art nouveau postcard.
- a length of grey/blue/pink ripped silk.
- a length of pin striped rayon ribbon.
- a length of old Swiss satin ribbon.

All perfect for those little projects or to simply add to your personal collection and your own lace drawer. As the box is wrapped in the lovely silk ribbon and dressed with the print, it makes a perfect little gift too.
