Reclaimed Antique Hand Stitched American Patchwork Panel - 3
£13.50
A rather gorgeous patchwork panel that has been hand stitched using varied wonderful prints from early 1900's clothing and grain sacks. The origin of this patchwork panel is from the United States but purchased here in Yorkshire from an auction. Such lovely examples of printed textiles for this period, so much to study...
Each panel is hand stitched, laboured over for hours and hours using small polygons (19 in each block). I like to imagine the conversations these panels have witnessed, the varied people it has had the pleasure of meeting and the story of the lady who invested so much time into these panels that were never finally constructed into anything for any use.
