A Rare Example of Victorian Parlour Needlework.
"Forget Me Not"
A beautiful example of punch paper needlework that was made for Victorian parlours. These 'motto samplers' were popular between 1860-1900 and are also popular with 'Home Sweet Home' and 'God Bless Our Home'. The handmade frame is pretty special too.
The Needlework area measures - width - 52cm height - 20.5cm
The full area space of cross frame is - width - 68cm height - 38cm
The frame is in structural condition, there does seem to be a mend to one of the corner crosses but this has been very well done, it is rather hard to work out which corner it is.
