A beautiful old watercolour of old resting boats in a beautiful sunset. The detailing within this study is exquisite, from the sunlight casting out to sea, to the reflection in the pools, the silhouettes of people and the very fine linear brush marks representing the sailing ropes and masts. There is foxing to the painting which appears strongly on the reverse and just a suggestion of the front. The painting has had a little tear which measures approximately 2cm form the edge in, but this has been mended on the reverse with tape.
The size of the frame measures 22cm x 14.5cm.
This painting is unsigned and is approximately 120 years old.
