One of my many wishes, when first starting to plan this little shop of mine, was to work with artisans and makers to produce something exclusive, a collection that was hand made in their studio, specially for The Linen Garden.
I am drawn to blackbirds .... my garden is a blackbird and bee holiday camp (it has been designed that way) so when I saw a simple and beautiful print by Kettle of Fish that included 'a blackbird' and a 'bee' I just had to place a commission and this print has lived in my sitting room for the last few years...'and'...I have loved the creative world of Kettle of Fish ever since...
Soooo......it seemed such a natural 'ask' (with fingers crossed) to invite Kettle of Fish to be the first to work in 'An Artisan Garden'....and she delightfully said yes!!....Therefore I am overjoyed to introduce you to.....

Kettle of Fish Designs is the creative outlet for Karen Kench, a Fine Art graduate, keen walker, gardener and compulsive collector of things. The range of work has developed over the last seven years from mixed media jewellery and decoupage, through to framed canvas prints and a distinctive range of lampshades.
Her designs incorporate an eclectic and unusual mix of techniques that have evolved over many years and combine to create a unique style. Karen's influences come from nature, still life paintings, timeworn surfaces, museum cabinets, junk shops, vintage ephemera and a lifetime of keeping things that ‘might come in’ one day. So you can see why it was an organic partnership....
Karen has designed a collection of 6 beautiful 'candle shades' to include said 'blackbird and bee' as well as a wee wren, butterflies, a pretty primula and botanical details. Alongside this collection she has also designed and made a collection of precious tags and a wren and blackbird bunting. I have to say I can imagine the bunting being styled and displayed in many a florists shop across the land.....

FROM THE MORNING OF FRIDAY MARCH 18TH
THE BUNTING AND TAG COLLECTIONS
WILL BE ACTUALLY IN STOCK ON THIS DAY TOO
AND WILL BE AVAILABLE STRAIGHT AWAY FOR DISPATCH
THE CANDLE SHADES WILL THEN BE IN FULL STOCK
IN STORE BY END OF APRIL 2016
