These beautiful hand painted plates were very fashionable in the late 1800's to adorn walls. This is beautifully detailed with chrysanthemums, so well observed. It is in good structural condition for its age. Just a few areas where the paint has flaked or chipped.
This is one of the most loveliest examples of Watcombe Potteries of Torquay that I have seen, produced around 1880/1890 - so a lovely aged piece. The kind of oil painting usually seen on canvas.
Diameter is 31.5cm
Ready to hang as it still has the original wire hanger to the back.
Heavy in weight.
