This is the kind of shell that is an artists dream, it shows slight imperfections from a journey well-travelled and has a lovely faded cream blush (tones are a little warmer than the photographs show) to the rippled surface and to the edges. These larger old shells are becoming harder to find.

Some of the spikes are broken away probably from its time in the sea rather than an antiques fair.
