A beautiful and rare find.
These beautiful needlepoint bags are always a joy to find. There is a weighted appreciation of the time invested in making such a wonderful piece. Artisan in technique and style and complete with thousand of the tiniest considered stitches.
Dates to late nineteen twenties/early thirties.
It is in very good condition for age. The lining is a taffeta silk and the chain handle is the original. The clasp is in working order. The needlepoint has faded very slightly on one side from wear but nothing major, I have just noticed it enough to mention it.
