A beautiful large oil painting on board that has been reclaimed from an old Victorian screen. Detailed with the most beautiful of blossom and foliage and a small passing butterfly. The painting is calming and delicate in painting style in gorgeous harmonious tones. Painted around 1870/1880's when John Ruskin and William Morris' work was desirable. This style of painting was seen in screens and hand painted directly onto walls of Orangeries. I have seen a beautiful display at Wallington House in Northumbria.
On the reverse is a painting of a windmill in beautiful blues.
