Beautiful Delicate 19th Century Painting - Blossom & Reed
£110.00
A beautiful large oil painting on board that has been reclaimed from an old Victorian screen. Detailed with the most beautiful tall, reed flowering grass (can't seem to identify the name, if you know please do let me know). The painting is calming and delicate in painting style in gorgeous harmonious tones. Painted around 1870/1880's when John Ruskin and William Morris' work was desirable. This style of painting was seen in screens and hand painted directly onto walls of Orangeries. I have seen a beautiful display at Wallington House in Northumbria.
On the reverse is a painting of a house and trees in beautiful blues.
I have a sister painting for sale too in this shop window.
