Beautiful Late 19th Century Reclaimed Landscape Oil - The Walk

£38.00

A beautiful old landscape oil reclaimed from the original damaged frame and mount.  However the marks left by the old mount are rather lovely and suit the painting, especially if you love rustic markings.  This has been originally painted on a heavy paper board so it is sturdy enough to lean against a cupboard top, mantle or shelf.  I also have its sister painting for sale within this Shop Window too.

This painting is signed to the bottom right corner but the name is hard to make out.  Possibly J. Sawley.

Study measures 50cm x 22cm

The painting depicts a lady holding an arm of corn or wheat situated to the left of the painting and set within a beautiful landscape and the way the skies are painted it is as if the sun is still rising which suggests a mid morning.  There is a gate to the right so maybe she is on her way to feed sheep or cattle in the field.

I have taken lots of photographs as a visual descriptor.

Written on the back in feint pencil is Harvest Time.

The bottom left corner has chipped at some part of its journey.
