A Wonderful Collection of Rare Buttons, Fasteners & Blanks

I have been very lucky to acquire a collection of rare shell buttons, fasteners and blank discs (before they were carved or punched). They are very dusty and need some care and attention for an hour or two but the process of cleaning them will be a delight for you as the water and light reawaken the surface textures and sheen. These were found in an attic and I assume they had been there for some time. It appears that they are not from someone's collection but a gathering that may have come from the actual button maker. A mix of details from the 1700's and 1800's.
I will be measuring them by taking two syrup spoon scoops from the box and wrapping them in tissue. This should give you approx 90-100 pieces to use. Perfect for stitching to clothing or a making project or even the pages of your journal. Or you may even wish to purchase them to sell on yourself at a fair or two.
To give you an idea of size the dish in the photographs measures 10cm in diameter.
As always, once they are gone it will be years before I find another collection like this.
