Edwardian Oil Landscape Painting on Board - Dappled river
£62.00
When I was in the Lakes, we all used to sit and watch the nightime draw to a close. Just so wonderful to watch the sun dip behind Old Man Coniston and then the dark layer of tone would blend to black. This oil painting reminds me of that evening time where there is still enough light to capture the detail of the landscape and the magic of the last reflective light still dances across the water and sky.
This is probably Edwardian or late Victorian. The frame is perfect for the painting, there is wear to the cold inlay from its journey but the frame itself is in good structural condition.
This is the most perfect of paintings for a calm corner of your home.
It is not signed or dated.
The frame measures 60cm x 40cm
