Exquisite Old Ormalu Clock Face Frame

This piece is exquisite.  It is well worn and travelled and most of the gild has worn away.  It is a decorative mount that would have originally framed a clock face. Possibly French.  To the top sit two lovers, he is courting her with gentle tunes from his mandolin.  There are a fair few scalloped motifs throughout.  The detail is still wonderful on the inside where the gilt is highly present and the decorative detailing is more present.

Measures 26.5cm x 38cm.

I have had this resting on my wall in the sitting room while it awaited it time for the perfect shop window.
