Foundations - Envelope Fold Template - Reading by the Window

A lovely panel of cotton lawn that has been digitally printed.  

For this June collection I wanted to produce something that was a template for a 'making' project so I am pleased to introduce this envelope template.  (please note the dark is a negative space that you will eventually cut away).

You will see in the photographs that I have added another fabric from my cupboard to the reverse (not included) you can either hand stitch this or use bonda web as I have here.  Once the backing has been applied then you can fold it in to create the envelope.  You can then further add a loop and button or stitch ribbon at each edge to keep the envelope closed.  You can also adorn the envelope with stitched and embroidered detailing if you would like or adorn with something of your choice.  A lovely afternoon project on a rainy day
