Hand Made Shell Box

I adore these old shell boxes, originally made as a souvenir from the seaside but some were made as a past time too. This is an old souvenir box from St Malo near Portsmouth. There is faded type to the centre shell. A couple of the smaller shells are missing from the corner.
The base of the box is covered in a lovely printed paper, approx 1920's in age.
