I can't begin to explain ho truly special this old collectable postcard is in detail. The leaves are embossed into the card with touches of gilding that adds a preciousness, the birds have been applied as collage panels and are a hand painted short pile velvet. Exquisite. Below is 'with best birthday wishes' that has an ombre of old gold from wear over the years, the font is a delight. There is a hand written message on the reverse but his has been damaged in areas from where the postcard has been reclaimed from an album at some part of its journey.
Late 1800's.
It will stand perfect within a still life of your own, or just leant against a shelf or mantle to enjoy its preciousness.
