Old Pitcher with Pewter Lid - Blossom

A beautiful old transfer printed hot water pitcher with pewter lid (still very silver on the inside), decorated with a floral blossom design all around the body, the design differs on each side.  There's hand painted gilded work on the handle and spout and the weight of this piece makes this a perfect vessel for sturdier florals or a large display. the lid will tip back and help support the flower stems.  In the Summer a large gathered collection of varied garden flowers whether an armful of cornflowers or a few tall stems of peonies or delphiniums, this old pitcher will serve them well.  It's origin is either Chinese/Japanese.
The base is a very soft pale blue/grey.  The blossom detailing is very lovely indeed, each individual blossom branch/snippet is different in design.

18cm in height.
Good condition for age.  No chips or cracks.
Heavy in weight
