When I get time I love to collage with old fabrics and stitching. The idea of just starting with a small selection of fabrics and creating something that changes and alters each minute you work on it it so satisfying. Sometimes they go in sketchbooks or sometimes they are just kept in a box. This reclaimed fabric is perfect for such workings (I have kept a panel for myself). This printed cotton is reclaimed from an old parasol from the early 1900's. The parasol was damaged passed repair so I have saved the fabric. The fabric is in very used condition which I love. The varied tones and aged areas are just lovely to use for collage.
Colours are a little duller than the natural light is showing here in the photographs.
Each measures 40cm in length.
