An exquisite old sampler in the tiniest of petit point stitches. It appears that this was produced over a very long time in the late 1700's. An exceptional piece that is beautifully executed with such detail. I have taken lots of photographs as a visual descriptor. The reverse is still showing the original brighter tones of colour. Embroidered onto a silk fine organza which is backed with another layer of this fine fabric. I wonder what its origin is.
This piece holds so much technique, skill and laboured hours.
