Large Pierre-Joseph Redouté Bookplates - Collection 1

Belgian born Redouté achieved success as a painter working for the French royal court as a tutor to Marie Antoinette and later from 1798 was appointed to paint the flowers of Malmaison by Josephine Bonaparte. His famous published works include 'Les Liliacées' and 'Les Roses'.
This is a collection of bookplates that were published around 1963.
Each measures approx 40.5cm x 30cm, just very slight light discolouration to the sides, just very slight though and there may be the odd slight corner crease or indention/scuff to the edge of the paper.

Rosa Gallica - this is slightly smaller at and has a stain to the parchment that appears to be similar to foxing. - 28cm x 36cm
