A box that is layered with inspiration mixed with the anticipation of not quite knowing quite what you will receive inside. A gift to yourself to open over a quiet afternoon or evening, containing a gathering of small precious lace inspired details. A visual diary of two old lace studios.
I know many of you love to create and style pages of journals, sketchbooks or individual artworks and so I am hoping you are loving the Sketchbook Stories. Each is a themed collection that is available to purchase around every 6-8 weeks, depending on how busy the studio is within the season.
This is a limited edition collection based on the ingredients available. There is only 22 available in this third edition.
The Lace Studio is a delight as it contains the most gorgeous examples of lace designs from England and France. You will receive a collection of arpprox 20 varied hand painted and pencilled design samples that originated from an old lace design studio based in Nottingham, England, these were the original mappings used before calculations were made to input into the lace making machine looms. Dating to the mid 1900's. These hand painted designs also have little individual samples of antique lace stapled to them, these do not correspond with the designs that they sit with but are just grouped together to introduce a lovely aesthetic.
Also enclosed within the box are a collection of 5 prints produced here in the studio that have been taken from original pencil and ink sketches of lace that I have recently purchased at an antiques fair. These sketches were hand drawn by designers in the late 1800's who worked in a studio in Caudry, France, an area famous for its lace making. Beautiful layers of history for you take inspiration from.
