A beautiful vintage statue/figurine of the Greek goddess Persephone.
Persephone, also known as Kore (meaning "the maiden"), is a central figure in Greek mythology, embodying both life and death. She was abducted by Hades while gathering flowers in a meadow, taken to the underworld, and made his queen. Her mother, Demeter, goddess of agriculture, caused the earth to become barren in grief, leading to famine. Zeus intervened, but because Persephone had eaten pomegranate seeds in the underworld, she was bound to spend part of the year with Hades and the rest with her mother, symbolizing the seasonal cycle of growth and dormancy
