Magic Lantern & Dry Plate - York Minster

I acquired this old magic lantern slide and dry plate in a box with others. I always find that there is something rather magical about these images, maybe it is the frame, or the way light dances through the captured image but I always find them to be quite calming. They look rather lovely propped against a window ledge so the natural light can bring them back to life, like a painting especially if you have a lace or cotton lawn drape to diffuse the light, even a panel of tissue paper placed behind them can help the image to come back to life.
These two images are of the Minster in York.
