A pretty special old stoneware water pitcher made by Ridgway and produced in a design titled Hanley. There is a date stamped into the base along with the makers stamp that states October 1st 1838. Decorated with exquisite hand painted illustrations of birds in glaze and gild.

Stoneware pitchers are perfect to use as vases for those heavier Summer blooms such as delphiniums and digitalis.
