Dark atmospheric ground in varied observations of green and darks with violets appearing from the shadow, just catching the light. Cowslips are the main feature, exquisitely executed and a joy to study.
Painted on a hand made pulped board - produced in a similar way to hand made paper for its time. I love that the edges are raw and that there is a little old string hanger. You can imagine that this would have been hanging in a rustic old farmhouse against an old stone wall.
