These small old landscape oils are becoming harder to find even though they dress the pages of interior magazines quite regularly.
This beautiful pair of old landscapes are rather old. They are rich in detail from river to thatch. They are beautifully executed.
Layers of paint have darkened in areas as expected for age. The paintings are mainly in good condition, just a few marks here and there from their journey. As these are reclaimed from damaged frames the edges are scuffed and marked etc.
I can't see any initials but it appears to be mid to early 1800's
17cm x 23cm
Painted on hand made pulped board.
Top three corners (out of four) have been bent and creased at some point in their journey.
