A very special painting for those who love the sea at night.
I can't begin to tell you how beautiful this watercolour is to view. The technique of capturing the moonlight through broken cloud down onto the waves is just exquisite. I am also selling the sister painting to this too.
Possibly of the North Yorkshire Coast as the framers were based in Middlesbrough (label is attached to the back).
Frame measures 36cm x 27cm, it is the original frame. The back has been finished with framers tape some time ago to re-strengthen the attachment of the backing board to the frame. The mount has been hand gilded and has some marks with a crease to the top right corner. All these slight imperfections add to the character and beauty of this piece.
