Old Wooden Hand Painted Marquis Box

A particularly special and wonderful piece, all hand made and hand painted. I think it is of French origin. I imagine it was made to hold ladies finery such as collars, lace etc. It would make a beautiful keepsake box. The base colour and florals are all hand painted. The lid has wear back to the base wood. There is a makers label to the base which is hard to make out from wear but I have photographed it so you can see.

It is in travelled condition with wear and marks as expected from its journey.
