Perfectly Imperfect Old Ridgeway Plate "Constantia"
Perfectly Imperfect Old Ridgeway Plate "Constantia"
£18.50
A beautiful design that depicts a beautiful floral linear design with hand painted detailing.
Made within the John Ridgeway Potteries, the plate has Ridgway's striking Royal Arms Mark on the back. Because that form of the Royal Arms wasn't used after 1837, and John Ridgway's pottery began operations in 1830, the plate can be dated 1830-37.
This plates hand painted details are unfinished which is why I love this plate so much. It allows the under linear design to dance with the heavier detailing.
It has damage to two sides which is shown in the photographs.
22.5cm in diameter.
Heavy ironstone.
